Current News

The 2016 Year Book for "From Despair to Deliverance, the King David Project" has been published with updated and new content. Visit the King David Project Masada Rain Blog sidebar for links to all King David article compilations and publications.

Blog posts come out on Tuesdays and Fridays Australian time. 2017 blog posts will feature a mix of research and encouragement articles, the new Bible Geeks segment, Bible Study resource sites, books reviews and music videos. Comments are switched off as Cate is still struggling with her health, but all are welcome and comments can be made on the Project's Facebook page. Cate's Twitter account is at constant risk of demolition due to spam pots and political arguments, so it has been switched to private. Australia is simply not far away from the chaos in the nothern hemisphere... so for the sake of sanity, protective measures have been taken.

Immediate access to all of Cate's articles on David is available on Faithwriters. The best way to find an article is to visit the topic list on the web site. The blog also has a content master list and works as a mirror site so content is accessible to multiple audiences.

Creating and Resolving Conflict in FictionCreating and Resolving Conflict in Fiction (Four Dimensional Characterisation Series)
Creating and Resolving Conflict in Fiction is not a "how to write" text. It is a user-friendly, introductory reference on the topics covered, which will enable you to understand and write about them more effectively. You don't have to read the book from cover to cover, individual chapters can be used as the topic is needed, or if you are simply looking for inspiration when building a character's psychological profile. This is an idea book. It isn't over-technical; getting you bogged down in deep psychological theory. Creating and Resolving Conflict in Fiction is specially designed to be a quick-read. No time? No problem!

About Cate

avatarCate Russell-Cole is a qualified Creativity Coach, Author, Editor and Social Worker. Over her career as a teacher and writer, she has researched, written and taught five creativity-orientated courses; worked as a freelance writer, graphic designer, desktop publisher and has authored ten non-fiction books. Privately, she is a Christian science fiction/ fantasy author who was working on The Chronicles of Mirchar Series. Cate has a love of the science fiction - fantasy genre and has been writing diaries, appalling poetry and short stories since she was a child.

Until early in 2015, Cate coached writers online through her CommuniCATE Resources for Writers blog, with a blog and social media following of over seven thousand people. Her commercial work had to be stopped due to chronic health problems, so instead, she followed her heart and devoted all her time to studying King David. She is not planning to publish commercially again.

Cate has taught with the Adult Community Education programs hosted by TAFE in both New South Wales and Queensland. She has also worked for private training companies, Brisbane City Council and a variety of community services as a trainer. Her most successful course to date is “Write Your Life Story.” Other courses she has written include:

  • "Person to Person" Layman's Communication and Conflict Resolution Course, Copyright 1990.
  • "Marketing for Writers", Copyright 1992.
  • Internet Use as a Resource for Writers, Copyright 1992.
  • "Writing Family History," a rewrite of an existing course hosted by the University of the Third Age Online. (Written in 2002)
  • "Maintaining Your Independence, A Course For Seniors," Copyright 2004. This is a course for seniors who want to retain an excellent quality of life and remain living in their own homes.

Her involvement with the Brisbane City Council library system has included being asked to present lectures on Diary Writing for “One Book, One Brisbane Week” 2002. Students from the various libraries have started and maintained their own writing groups after they completed "Write Your Life Story," in order to continue to write and achieve their publication goals. “Write Your Life Story” has been so popular, students returned to re-take the course and waiting lists were often needed.

Cate lives in Brisbane, Australia with her husband and two cats and habitually writes everything in Australian English.
